Dance Program Options
If you don’t see a style of dance class you like, let’s get it started for you!
(Other options to consider – Ballet, Contemporary/Lyrical, Modern, Stretch/Technique)

Pre-School Program
The Pre-School program is an introduction to dance consisting of Hip-Hop and Jazz dance. This program allows children to explore movement, imagination, and musicality in a structured but upbeat setting.

Hip-Hop Program
Hip-Hop dance refers to street dance styles primarily performed to hip-hop music or that evolved as part of hip-hop culture.

Jazz Program
Jazz dance is energetic and fun, consisting of unique moves, fancy footwork, big leaps, and quick turns. Upbeat pop music is most often used for this style of dance.

Tap Program
Tap is all about creating rhythms with your feet! Tap dance is a form of dance characterized by using the sounds of tap shoes striking the floor as a form of percussion. Special shoes with metal taps are worn.

Dress Code
Pre-School: Any tidy exercise wear, non-marking in-door runners for Hip-Hop. Ballet slippers (pink for girls, black for boys) are required for Jazz.
Hip-Hop: Loose, comfortable attire (no jeans), non-marking in-door runners.
Jazz: Any tidy exercise wear, beige jazz slip on shoes.
Tap: Any tidy exercise wear, beige full sole tap shoes.

Please have hair tied securely back for all classes.

Dance Program Guidelines
All students are expected to treat their instructors and fellow dancers with respect and consideration.
No student should be in the classroom unless enrolled in that particular class.
Students should be dressed and prepared to start class on time.
No street shoes to be worn in hall areas where dance class is held. Please change into your dance shoes in the waiting area.
Water bottles are acceptable in the hall, but food, gum and other drinks are not.
Cell phones must be turned off while dancers are in class.
Parents should not leave young children unattended in the waiting area before or after class.

Attendance & Punctutality

All students are expected to attend classes regularly and on time, in consideration of the teacher and fellow dancers. Dancers who are late miss “warming up” properly which may lead to injuries. Dancers who are late may have to sit out for their own safety. Once the dancers begin to learn their routines, we start to review and add new combinations each week – consecutive absences hold the class back.  If you know your child will be absent from class, please notify the instructor in advance.

Parent Watch Week

Parent watch week will be the last class of every month, for the last 15 minutes of each class. Parent watch week provides an excellent opportunity for parents to get a feel for how a dance class typically runs, class dynamics and to monitor their dancer’s progress.

All dancers (except for the pre-school program) will have the opportunity to showcase their accomplishments at a dance festival in April 2018. This will be at an additional cost to the dancers of $30.00/dancer. Additional information to follow.

All dancers will have the opportunity to showcase their accomplishments at a recital on May 7, 2018 as we wrap up the program for the year.
Dance Photos
We are looking at arranging to have dance photos done for the classes in the spring after costumes have arrived. Dance photos are an additional cost for those choosing to order.
