Hall Rental
McLeod Centre, located at 14715-59 Street NW, is available for rental for events, meetings, weddings, and other social functions. The main area of the hall (excluding the stage) is 44' by 60', for a total of 2640 square feet. The hall's capacity is 240 people, but for functions requiring a dance floor (i.e. weddings), the maximum capacity is 200 people.

Note that we cannot rent to businesses to conduct their business out of the hall as per the City of Edmonton Tripartite Agreement. Inquiries of this nature will not be answered. Fundraisers require proof of non-profit status. We do not rent to those wishing to generate revenue using our hall.

Rental FAQs
When can I come for a tour of the hall?
Arrangements must be made in advance for any viewings.

Do you have a caterer?
No.

When is my damage deposit refunded?
Damage deposit (less fees if applicable) cheques are mailed to you within 30 days after your rental date as per the contract. Please do not email asking about your damage deposit cheque until 30 days have passed.

Can I reserve a date?
No, dates are not reserved unless a signed contract is received and the damage deposit is paid in full. First come, first served.

Do I need to have a liquor license if alcohol at my rental is free?
Yes, all alcohol service requires a liquor license (purchase at any liquor store).

Do you provide a cleaning service?
No, renters are responsible for cleaning the hall entirely and removing all garbage prior to the end time of their rental.

Why was I charged fees against my damage deposit?
Fees are assessed for damage, unclean premises, garbage not removed, kitchen untidy, etc. When you signed the contract, you agreed that fees could be assessed.

When do I get the key for my rental?
The fob is provided at an arranged time when you pay your rental fee.

Can I get into the hall the day before to decorate and set up?
No, access to the hall is only within the rental times as per the contract. All set up and clean up must take place within the rental times.

Are bouncy tents allowed?
Yes, as long as they are the small ones (cannot touch 12-foot ceiling) and are set up away from the wall.

Are there cleaning supplies provided?
No, you must bring your own dishcloths, towels, detergent, etc. There are brooms and a mop provided for your use.

Can we conduct a fire ceremony inside the hall?
No.

Does the hall have a sound system or a microphone we can use?
Neither are available to renters. Please arrange to bring your own equipment.

What do you mean by "fully equipped kitchen"?
Gas stove (6 burners, 2 ovens, griddle); service for 200: dinner plates, dessert nappies, dessert plates, coffee mugs, and cutlery; water jugs; 5 thermal carafes, two 100-cup coffee urns and one smaller urn; serving platters and bowls; serving forks and spoons; ice machine and scoop; 3 indoor-use-only service carts; fridges in kitchen and bar area; freezer in bar area; buffet server; dish rinser/sanitizer (you must hand-wash before placing in this machine and then hand dry); industrial sinks; microwave; kettle

What about glassware and cookware/cooking utensils?
We do not supply these items.

What do we do with empty bottles?
There are bottle recycling bins in the hall that belong to the Youth Emergency Shelter. Please do not throw bottles into the garbage bin.

Rental Rates
Rental rates are $50/hour or $450/day. For wedding rentals (Friday noon until Sunday noon), the rate is $750. A damage deposit of $500 is required for all rentals, and liability insurance and a liquor license is REQUIRED for all renters serving alcohol. Members of the McLeod Community League are entitled to a $50 discount from the daily and wedding rental rates.
A membership can be purchased at the time of providing a damage deposit.

How to Rent
  1. Check the calendar in the drop-down menu above BEFORE you contact us about renting to confirm that the date you want is available. Please do not send multiple requests for the same rental. Emails asking about availability of dates will not be answered - the calendar is accurate.
  2. Read this ENTIRE page including the FAQs. Inquiries about anything that is already stated on this page will not be answered.
  3. Email  hallrental@mcleodcommunityleague.ca  with the following information:

    Reason for rental
  4. You will be sent a contract. Please read it including all the details. If you agree, it is YOUR responsibility to contact the rental coordinator to arrange to meet to submit the contract and pay the damage deposit at the hall office (left doors). Dates are NOT held unless a signed contract is provided AND the damage deposit is paid in full. We accept PayPal, cash, credit card, and debit at the hall office. NO cheques please. FIRST COME, FIRST SERVED. NO exceptions.

Under NO circumstances will McLeod Community League rent to those who do not treat the rental process, the facility or our rental coordinator with respect.
